Version 2.3.1 has now been released and available on the Play Store.
In this version you can now add time to your own fixed locks. If it’s a fixed lock with a visible timer you will see a plus button at the top of the day, hour, or minutes circle. If it’s a hidden timer lock you will see a “Add Time?” button.
I’ve also removed the ability to add yellow or reset cards to your lock if that lock is controlled by a keyholder. This is to stop you being able to reduce or reset the lock yourself after the keyholder has added a load of red or yellow cards.
A few people have asked for the ability to add more yellows than reds when creating a lock. In this version you can now do this. If you wanted to create a lock with 1 red and 20 yellows you can. The previous restrictions have been removed.
Another suggestion put forward by some of you was having the option to choose whether or not you want to reveal the combination when you draw the green card or restart the lock again. I’ve also added the option for you to let the app decide.
One of the biggest problems with variable locks is that they tend to finish a lot earlier than expected. I’ve tried to fix this in this version by setting the locks to run for a minimum duration that you or your keyholder chooses.
In order for this to work you need to set the sliders in a particular way when creating a lock or shared lock. For example, for an hourly lock, if you set the approx number of hours slider as minimum 5 and maximum 10 you will get a lock that will have between 5 and 10 red cards, and that lock will last for at least 5 hours. You won’t find the green until 5 hours have passed.
If you set the slider as minimum 1 and maximum 10 you will get a lock that will have between 1 and 10 red cards, and that lock will last for at least 1 hour. You won’t find the green until 1 hour has passed.
If you put both the minimum and maximum sliders on 10 you will get a lock that has 10 red cards but because the minimum is the same as the maximum the minimum defaults to 1 meaning it will last for at least an hour before you can find the green card.
Another change made for keyholders is the ability to name their locks. This is to help them manage and keep track of locks in their list. The names they choose can only be seen by them. They aren’t shown on the QR codes generated.
